Privacy Policy


Samhaengsi.com (hereinafter referred to as the "Service") values the personal information of users and complies with the "Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection." Through this Privacy Policy, the Service informs users about the purpose and method of using the personal information they provide and the measures taken to protect personal information.


1. Personal Information Items Collected and Collection Methods

    • Upon membership registration: Email address, Nickname (Information within the scope provided by the respective service for social logins)
    • During service use: IP Address, Cookies, Visit date and time, Service usage records, Device information
    • When creating Samhaengsi/comments: Content written, Author information (linked to member information upon login)
    • During interactions like likes: Relevant records
  • Collection Methods: Membership registration, Service use, Collection through information generation tools


2. Purpose of Collection and Use of Personal Information

The Service utilizes the collected personal information for the following purposes:

  • Member Management: Identity verification according to membership service use, Personal identification, Prevention of fraudulent use by delinquent members and unauthorized use, Confirmation of intention to join

  • Service Provision: Content provision, Customized service provision, Identity verification

  • New Service Development and Marketing/Advertising: New service development and provision of customized services, Service provision and advertisement placement based on statistical characteristics, Identification of access frequency, Statistics on members service use


3. Period of Retention and Use of Personal Information

In principle, the users personal information is destroyed without delay once the purpose of collection and use of personal information is achieved. However, the following information is retained for the period specified for the reasons below:

  • Reasons for information retention according to relevant laws: (Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, etc.)

  • Information retention according to internal policy: Records of fraudulent use (stored for 1 year after withdrawal)


4. Procedure and Method of Destruction of Personal Information

In principle, the Service destroys the information without delay after the purpose of collecting and using personal information has been achieved. The destruction procedure and method are as follows:

  • Destruction Procedure: Information entered by the user for membership registration, etc., is transferred to a separate DB (or a separate document box in case of paper) after the purpose is achieved and stored for a certain period according to internal policies and other relevant laws for information protection reasons (see retention and use period) before being destroyed.

  • Destruction Method: Personal information stored in electronic file format is deleted using a technical method that cannot reproduce the record. Personal information printed on paper is destroyed by shredding or incineration.


5. Provision of Personal Information

In principle, the Service does not provide users personal information externally. However, the following cases are exceptions:

  • When users have agreed in advance

  • When required by law, or when requested by an investigative agency according to the procedures and methods prescribed by law for investigation purposes


6. Consignment of Personal Information Processing and Third-Party Services

The Service utilizes external specialized companies or services for smooth service provision and operation as described below. While this may differ slightly from general consignment of personal information processing, we strive to ensure safe management according to relevant laws and contracts to protect user information.

  • Vercel Inc. (Service Hosting and Operation)

    • Consigned (Utilized) Tasks: Website hosting, deployment, log data analysis, etc.
    • Personal Information Items: Service usage records, access logs (including IP addresses), cookies, etc.
    • Retention and Use Period: Until membership withdrawal or service termination (however, retained for the required period if mandated by relevant laws).
  • Supabase Inc. (Backend Infrastructure and Database)

    • Consigned (Utilized) Tasks: Database management, user authentication, real-time features, etc.
    • Personal Information Items: Email address, nickname, member information, poem content, comments, like records, and other data generated during service use.
    • Retention and Use Period: Until membership withdrawal or achievement of the personal information processing purpose (however, retained for the required period if mandated by relevant laws).

7. International Transfer of Personal Information

For stable service provision and utilization of global infrastructure, the Service transfers and processes user personal information internationally as follows:

  • Personal Information Items Transferred: Items collected as specified in Section 1.
  • Country Transferred To: United States (Location of Vercel Inc. and Supabase Inc. servers)
  • Date and Method of Transfer: Transmitted frequently via network during service use.
  • Name (Legal Name) of Recipient: Vercel Inc., Supabase Inc.
  • Recipient's Purpose of Use: Service provision and operation, data storage and management, user authentication, etc.
  • Recipient's Retention and Use Period: Until membership withdrawal or achievement of the personal information processing purpose (however, retained for the required period if mandated by relevant laws).

Users who do not wish for the international transfer of their personal information can withdraw their consent by terminating their membership.


8. Rights of Users and Legal Representatives and How to Exercise Them

Users and legal representatives can view or modify their registered personal information or that of children under 14 at any time and can also request membership withdrawal. Please contact the Chief Privacy Officer in writing, by phone, or email, and we will take action without delay.


9. Matters Concerning the Installation, Operation, and Refusal of Automatic Personal Information Collection Devices

The Service uses cookies that store and frequently retrieve users information to provide specialized customized services. Cookies are small amounts of information sent by the server (HTTP) used to operate the website to the users computer browser and are sometimes stored on the hard disk of the users PC. Users have the option to install cookies. Therefore, users can allow all cookies by setting options in their web browser, confirm each time a cookie is saved, or refuse to save all cookies. However, if you refuse to install cookies, you may experience difficulties using some services.


10. Chief Privacy Officer

The Service designates the relevant department and Chief Privacy Officer as follows to protect users personal information and handle complaints related to personal information.


11. Duty of Notification

If there are additions, deletions, or modifications to the current privacy policy content, we will notify you through the service notice board at least 7 days before the revision.

Addendum This policy will take effect from April 26, 2025.
